A Guide to Enable ClearType Antialiasing for SonicStage

Attention: Members of MDCF. Please find the instructions to enable ClearType Antialiasing for SonicStage.

Use software such as Microsoft FrontPage or any other XML editor (Note: For a quick edit, use UltraEdit-32) to edit the following:
  1. Edit all XML files within "C:\Program Files\Sony\SonicStage\Data\XML" with "<AntiAliasQuality>2</AntiAliasQuality>" in between <Font>xxx</Font> of every XML files within the folder in question.

  2. Edit the font type within C:\Program Files\Sony\SonicStage\Data\XML\Lang.dtd with MS UI Gothic (*edit 6th and 9th line of "Lang.dtd") or your desired font type. Note: It is advisable to use MS UI Gothic for proper display of text within the UI. (most generic or the usual fonts will work as well)

  3. Finally, delete "App.xml_" (XML_ File) in "C:\Program Files\Sony\SonicStage\Data\XML" before running SonicStage after the edit. Please be sure that you DO NOT delete “App.xml” (XML Document). This step is crucial so that changes made to the XML files will be reflected accordingly.This step is crucial so that changes made to the XML files will be reflected accordingly.
NOTE: The only area where ClearType Antialiasing does not work is within "Import A CD" window and only applies to Album and Track info of the CD.
