I have a Sony Walkman NW-E003F. It is a 1GB mp3 player.
I installed SonicStage 3.4 on my desktop PC which runs on WindowsXP
Then I installed SonicStage3.4 on my new Dell laptop which runs on Windows Vista Home Basic
Now when I try to open SonicStage on my LAPTOP it doesn’t work, but it will run on my desktop PC
There is an error message:
“Cannot start SonicStage because the database is being used by another program
Or the database cannot be accessed for some other reason
(Error Code: 00005e27)”

Is it because Windows Vista cannot support SonicStage? Or is it because I installed the program in 2 computers so the database couldn’t be accessed on my laptop due to some clash?

So what should I do now? I can think of three choices, but I don’t know if they will solve my problem.
(1) Uninstall SonicStage 3.4 in my desktop PC – will this make the program accessible on my laptop?
(2) Download SonicStage 4.3 which supports Vista
(3) Format my mp3 player – will this help?

Please reply asap! Thanks

I would try 4.3 and see what happens, you can also try the atraclife forum as they deal more with the non mD models.
Good luck,
Bob

Welcome to the forums!

SonicStage 3.4 does not work under Vista. Simply install SonicStage 4.3 and use it - it is Vista-comptible.

hi there,

hopefully someone can help me. i've been using my md nh 700 (or whatever its called) for years. i record my band stuff, then transfer it onto my pc and then burn a copy on disc as audio files. now i bought a new laptop with this vista crap, which drives me nuts. anyway, i installed 4.3 and attached my md to the usb port. sonic stage never recognized the minidisc. it said something like "no disc" or "format not right". so i reinstalled 4.3 and now it says error 00005e27. is anyone out there who knows how to help me?

If you haven't already found a solution to this try right clicking on the icon and selecting Run as administrator. It works for me.

Eureka! That's just what I was wondering about in another thread.

I think maybe this wasnt happening by default until Vista SP1.
