Hi All..stuck this question here caus it's really just a question about cords I spose.

I've seen several custom headphone cords (and many other typ of patch cords) on various boards, but searching for a DIY about how to make the cord hasn't come up with anything.

a friend had a set of Shure E2c's with a badly frayed cord at the earpiece. he gave them to me and Icracked openthe earpiece, cut the frayed section of cord out and re solderd it back. glued the earpieces back together and they workbetter now.

but after fixing that frayed section, I now know there's a problem at the Y in the cord. so, I'd like to have a go at making a custom cord.

does anyone have a link to a DIY on trick headphone cords I could read ? or should I just visit radio shackand have a go at it.
