Full Version: Deleting tracks on an MD via Sonic Stage

I've always wondered why it takes so long to delete tracks from a minidisc when your unit is hooked up to Sonic Stage. And why it says "transferring" during the process. I sometimes just disconnect my NH900, do it via the unit (4x faster), then plug it back into the computer. Any thoughts?

Easy, that one I can guess an answer to. When you delete tracks it is updating the authorization count which may be finite, on the hard disk. This requires significant communication between slave and master smile.gif

Check, Avrin?

...then is this a setting that one can override?

Under Transfer Settings - NetMD - Advanced, there is a check box "Check if this track was transferred from this computer before deleting".

Not sure what it does.... mine is unchecked.

FWIW, when I switched from SS 3.4 to 4.2, this process is almost immediate...maybe 2-4 seconds total, when before it could easily take maybe 10+ seconds.

... I'm running SS 4.3, and had the same issue with 4.2.

Just use Simple Burner -- a lot quicker and you don't need SS (although you have to install the OMG module.

Very quick for erasing and reformatting
